Andrew Bowen

Specialisms:

A Birmingham University graduate, Andrew joined the firm in 1990 and has specialised in personal injury work since then, dealing with a wide range of high value and complex cases in the County Court, High Court and Court of Appeal. He is acknowledged in the Legal 500 directory to the UK Legal Profession as ‘conscientious, with good judgment and attention to detail’, with a strong focus on ‘employer’s and public liability, as well as high-value road traffic accident claims.’

He is a board member and former Chair of Sandwell Citizens Advice Bureaux and a member of the Birmingham Law Society Dispute Resolution Committee.

Interests:

Andrew is a keen football fan and supporter of his home town team, Walsall. He enjoys spending time with his family and is also a fan of comedy and music. He also plays the guitar – very badly!

Richard Shaw

Associate Solicitor

Specialisms:

Richard joined the firm in 1997 and qualified as a solicitor in 1999. Since then he has specialised in personal injury work. Richard mainly acts on behalf of injured clients, but is also instructed by Defendants and their insurers. He has a varied case-load with an emphasis on workplace injuries, but which also includes claims arising out of road accidents, public and occupiers’ liability, travel accidents, industrial disease and criminal injuries. Richard has dealt with a number of complex and high value cases, including a recent case in the Court of Appeal. He is described by clients as “excellent”, “very helpful” and “professional” and has been praised for communicating in plain English rather than legal jargon.

Away from work Richard enjoys spending time with his family, travel and sports.

Anu Lagah

Paralegal

Specialisms:

Anu joined Challinors personal damages team in 2007. She specialises in Claimant personal injury work and manages a wide range of personal injury cases, including road traffic accidents, slip/trip accidents, and occupiers’ liability accidents.

Anu graduated at the University of Birmingham with an LL B Law (Hons) in 2005. She then went on to complete her Legal Practice Course at the Inns of Court School of Law at City University London.

Interests:

Anu is a keen fitness enthusiast and enjoys body combat, aerobics and running. She is also very fond of travelling.
